First Lady Kathleen Sandoval to reveal wish to local child at Waffles & Wishes 2015 on March 10 at Atlantis Casino Resort
RENO, NV. – Share in the power of a wish® at Waffles & Wishes on Tuesday, March 10 from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30a.m. at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. In its fifth year, Make-A-Wish’s® Waffles & Wishes raises money to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The event is hosting by the Atlantis Casino Resort and presented by the Jacqueline Klaich Family in honor of their mother Jacqueline Klaich, known for her open and unconditional friendliness and was a person who sought out and found the inherent goodness in everyone.
During the event, guests will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items, enjoy breakfast, and listen to heartwarming stories from past wish children and their families. At each Waffles & Wishes event, Make-A-Wish reveals a wish live to an unsuspecting child. Last year’s wish child, Lily will be in attendance, and will share he r wish experience – a magical trip to Disney World. First Lady Kathleen Sandoval will help grant the wish of this year’s recipient, Emily, 9, who battles brain cancer. Emily will learn that her wish to meet Frozen’s Princess Anna is being granted and she and her family will be traveling to Disney World. Emily’s wish is being adopted by the local office of Morgan Stanley.
Make-A-Wish is hoping to raise enough funds at the event to be able to grant at least 10 of the more than 40 wishes the organization expects to grant in northern Nevada this year. The average cash cost of a wish granted is $5,000. Many wishes also receive generous backing of local and national sponsors through in-kind support.
