Atlantis “October Contest” Rules
Contest Date: Sunday, October 16, 2016
The Atlantis Race Book will be holding a horse handicapping contest each 3rd Sunday of the month, starting on June 19. The winner of the monthly contest will be the contestant who accumulates the highest cumulative points in the monthly contest. Accumulated points do not carry over from month to month, as each monthly contest will be a separate handicapping contest. The specific contest rules are as follows:
As used herein “Atlantis” means Atlantis Casino Resort Spa located in Reno Nevada.
Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Must be at least 21 years of age to participate and upon request participants must provide valid proof of age.
This promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including gaming, and all aspects of the promotion are subject to the approval of appropriate regulatory authorities.
All entries are subject to review and verification.
The Atlantis reserves the right to adjust contest rules or cancel the contest at any time.
Potential winners must show their Club Paradise Card and valid picture identification (driver’s license, state identification card, or military identification card, current passport or alien registration card) in order to collect prize.
Potential winners agree to allow the Atlantis the unconditional use of their name and likeness for promotions/advertising and announcements without compensation, consideration, notice, review, or consent.
Winners are responsible for any and all taxes, licenses, registrations and other fees.
Atlantis reserves the right to change contest dates due to unforeseen or extenuating circumstances.
All decisions regarding the interpretation of rules, eligibility, etc. for this promotion lie solely with the Atlantis whose decisions are final.
Atlantis reserves the right to modify or cancel this promotion at any time, for any reason, subject to any applicable regulatory approval, provided that such modification shall not, as of the date of such modification, materially alter or change any participant’s prize already awarded.
Atlantis may disqualify any participant for any prize based upon fraud, dishonesty, violation of promotional rules or other misconduct whether or not related to this promotion.
Atlantis shall not be liable for injuries or losses arising or resulting from participation in the promotion and is not liable for any acts or omissions by employees, whether negligent or willful, in the conduct of the promotion and is not liable in the event of any equipment or software malfunction.
Atlantis shall not be responsible for lost, late, mutilated, or illegible entries nor for electronic transmission errors or delays resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, hardware, software, or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable connections, fraud, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, whether caused by Atlantis, a prize supplier or a promotion sponsor, users, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the promotion or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions which may limit, restrict, or prevent a participant’s ability to participate in the promotion.
If for any reason the promotion is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes within or beyond the control of the Atlantis which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this promotion, Atlantis reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any program or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Atlantis reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.
Prizes and entries are non-transferable.
Must be a member of Club Paradise to participate.
Club Paradise memberships are free and are available at the Club Paradise desk.
Entries will be retained for record keeping purposes in accordance with local legal requirements.
Employees of Atlantis and its subsidiaries, affiliates, or parent companies are not eligible for this promotion.
Individuals who are excluded from casino facilities, including through government regulation, at Atlantis’ discretion, or by their own request, are not eligible.
By participating in this promotion, participants agree to the rules.
A copy of these rules and any changes will be available at the Race & Sports Book throughout the duration of this promotion.
How to Enter:
Contest entry period will begin the prior Monday before the contest date and end at 2 pm on the Contest day. Entries will be accepted during the designated contest entry period only.
Contestants may earn a “comped” entry into the contest for each $500 of “recorded race play” during the previous calendar month. Maximum of three (3) “comped” entries per account. Recorded race play will not carry over from month to month and is only valid for the appropriate contest month. Recorded race play is the amount of race play credited to a guest account by using a Club Paradise Card at the time of placing the wagers. Only recorded race play in the guest account will count towards a “comped” entry into the race contest.
Maximum of three (3) comped contest entries per account. Contestant must be present to participate in contest.
Contestants will be using their Club Paradise number and will make their selections on the self-service contest terminals.
Scratches will be refunded (0 points) and must be re-bet. Any unused wagers at the end of the day will be worth zero points and will not be credited, refunded, or carried over. It is the contestant’s responsibility to re-bet all scratches. Contestant may return to the betting window to have the scratch voided in order to re-bet.
In the event of a “dead heat” finish, the contestant will be awarded the mutual(s) for your selection only.
If any race in which a contestant has placed a contest wager is considered a non-race, the contest wager will be awarded zero points.
It is the contestant’s responsibility to make sure that his/her contest ticket is accurate. No ticket will be changed or altered after the race is locked out.
It is the contestant’s responsibility to make sure that all wagers are placed on the proper entry (if contestant has multiple entries).
No points will be credited on a contest wager that has not been accepted into the computer system.
All tickets will be graded on the selection chosen on the ticket.
It is the responsibility of the contestant to swipe card and verify correct account on contest screen prior to making selections and to properly close the player contest account on the self-service machine. If by chance a contestant whose number is misused, replacement selection(s) may be issued at the discretion of Atlantis Management.
All contestants must agree to these rules as a condition of being a contestant in this contest.
Each contestant will make twelve $20 contest win, place, and show wagers (contest wagers) on any of the races offered at the designated contest tracks. All contestants must wager on the four mandatory races as specified by Contest Management, with the remaining eight contest wagers to be wagered on the contestants races of choice only from the designated contest tracks.
Each contest wager must be for $20 win, $20 place, and $20 show.
Only win, place, and show wagers will be accepted.
Scratches are worth zero points, and must be re-bet. Any unused wager at the end of the day will be zero points and will not be credited, refunded, or carried over.
Entries and fields go as a single wagering interest.
No “must go” entry or “must go” turf wagers will be accepted.
Any dispute or situation not covered by these rules shall be resolved by Atlantis Management in a manner that is fair to all parties.
If the patron is not satisfied with Management’s decision, he/she may exercise their rights under NRS 463.362 et eq. And request the Nevada Gaming Control Board to review the matter.
For valid contest selection, all contestants must properly complete the tournament selection on the self-service contest machine. Contest wagers not completed properly are VOID and will not be permitted for contest purposes. It is the sole responsibility of each contestant to ensure all contest wagers are properly completed. Contest wagers will not be VOIDED after post time. It is the sole responsibility of each contestant to ensure all contest wagers are correct at the time of placing the contest wager.
Selection of Winners
Winners will be determined by accumulation of all points received during contest period for all contest wagers placed during the contest.
Winning contest wagers will be awarded points equal to pari-mutuel payout for each winning selection. (Example – if the win payout for the horse is $7.20, contestant with correct selection will receive 72 points for the race).
PRIZE FUND (Guaranteed Minimum Prize Fund of $ 1,000)
1st place = 50% of all entry fee monies collected
2nd place = 30% of all entry fee monies collected
3rd place = 20% of all entry fee monies collected
All Prize Fund monies must be collected within 48 hours of contest date and cannot be redeemed at a later date.
Potential winning contestants who do not claim their prize fund monies within allotted time period will forfeit their prizes.
Prizes are non-transferable, no substitutions allowed.
