Savor the Flavor of the Islands at Atlantis Spirited Dinner

Rum the featured spirit of Bistro Napa dinner

RENO, NEV. – Rum has made its comeback according to industry-leading food and beverage magazine, Food & Wine, who just named it the 2017 Spirit of the Year. Known for its diversity that provides a wide spectrum of flavor profiles to explore, rum is an ideal spirit for sipping as well as mixing into flavorful cocktails.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa’s Bistro Napa is highlighting the versatility of rum on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m., and has developed menu that features the island cocktail culture that oftentimes runs parallel to rum. Using Don Q Rums, the brand used in the original Pina Colada, Atlantis’s Food & Beverage team has created a playful Caribbean-inspired menu for the perfect pairings.

The dinner includes:

First Course

Lobster-Conch Fritter

Tamarind Coulis, Lychee Papaya Salsa

Cocktail – The Floridian

Don Q Cristal, Cream of Coconut, Smoky Pineapple Syrup, Tiki Bitters

Second Course

Molasses Glazed Shrimp

Sugar Cane Skewer, Grilled Rum Soaked Baby Pineapple, Fried Plantains

Cocktail – Mai, How Tai’m Flies

Don Q Gran Anejo, Crème de Banana, Orgeat, Lime Juice

Third Course

Guyanese Pepperpot

Braised Oxtail, Sweet Potatoes, Caribbean Peppers, Island White Bread

Cocktail – Sancho Panza Punch

Don Q Gran Anejo, Don Q Coconut, China China Amer, Demerara Syrup, Fresh Orange Juice
