Firefighter Combat Challenge U.S. Nationals Held at Atlantis Reno
RENO, NEV. – Hundreds of firefighters are expected to compete in the U.S. Nationals of the Scott Safety Firefighter Combat Challenge, held Oct. 7 & 8 in the West Parking Lot of Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
The Firefighter Combat Challenge promotes physical fitness readiness where firefighters race against themselves, their opponent and the clock via an obstacle course consisting of five tasks firefighters must perform on a regular basis, including a 5-story tower climb, hoisting, dragging a hose, chopping and rescuing a 175-lb. mannequin. Firefighters must complete the course in full bunker gear, including a breathing apparatus.
