Reno’s Atlantis Resort is continuing its aggressive move towards national recognition as one of Nevada’s premier gaming facilities by hosting yet another high profile poker tournament. In September, the Atlantis was the featured location of the World Poker Tour’s regional event, their Western Poker Challenge. Held in late September, the three day WPT event guaranteed $150,000 in prize money and allowed local poker players to join in a televised tournament.
The casino now will be holding their third annual Atlantis All In Poker Series March 15 to 25, 2013, which will be part of Card Player’s flagship poker tour, which started in July 2012 at the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma. Other upcoming events in the tour include play at the Wynn in Las Vegas, the Bicycle Club in Los Angeles, and a Caribbean cruise aboard the Oasis of the Seas in April.
Card Player is a highly respected poker magazine that has been covering tournaments and offering poker strategy and interviews in 1988. The Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) consists of a series of live poker tournaments that feature web broadcasts of its final table events. CardPlayer.com is an online poker guide that features the monthly magazine, poker results, and historical tournament totals for events as well as player bios and totals.
The event at the Reno Atlantis kicks off with a $340 buy-in Texas Hold’em tournament with $50,000 in prize money guaranteed on March 15th. Daily tournaments in Hold’em and Omaha are scheduled with buy-ins ranging from $120 to $550. Satellites will also be offered for entry to the main event, starting at $70.
The main event, a $1,080 buy-in No-limit Texas Hold’em tournament, will have two flights, Friday, March 22nd, and Saturday, March 23rd. The final table will be held on Monday, March 25th. Players who pre-register for the main event online by March 1, 2013 or in person by March 16, 2013, will receive a complimentary hotel room.
